When to send it

  • Right after a cash-on-delivery order is placed

Is a COD confirmation message a utility template?

Yes. Asking the customer to confirm an order they placed is a utility message. It becomes marketing if you add an incentive, such as a discount for switching to prepaid.

What if the customer doesn’t reply to the COD confirmation?

Decide a rule and apply it every time — for example, call the customer, or hold the order for a day before cancelling. If you do cancel, send an order-cancelled message so they know what happened.

Do WhatsApp COD confirmations reduce RTO?

They help by catching unwanted or mistaken orders before dispatch instead of at the door. How much they help varies by store, so compare your refusal rate before and after you start.
