When to send it

  • Right after an order is placed on your website, app or in a chat
  • When an order taken by phone or at the counter needs a written record
  • Once payment arrives for an order that was waiting on it
  • When items, quantity or the total change and the customer should see the new details

Tips for approval and replies

  • Keep it purely about this order. A discount on the next purchase, “you may also like” or a “Shop again” button turns it into a marketing template.
  • Give realistic samples when you submit — a real-looking order ID, a ₹ amount and a date — so the reviewer sees exactly what the customer receives.
  • A “View order” or “Track order” URL button pointing to your own website is fine for utility. Avoid bit.ly and other link shorteners.
  • Send confirmations in batches from a CSV: import the day’s orders into wbm.link with the order ID and amount as custom fields, and they fill the variables when you broadcast the template.

Is an order confirmation a utility or a marketing template?

Utility, as long as it only covers the customer’s own order: items, amount, order ID and delivery date. Add a discount code, a product suggestion or an offer and Meta will categorise it as marketing, which costs more.

Can I send order confirmations on WhatsApp in Hindi?

Yes. Submit the Hindi version as its own template with the language set to Hindi. It can use the same variables as the English one, so each customer can get the language they prefer.

Can wbm.link send order confirmations automatically when an order is placed?

No. wbm.link does not integrate with store platforms, so it does not send anything on its own when an order comes in. Import your orders as a CSV with the details as custom fields, send the approved template as a broadcast, and customer replies arrive in the team inbox.
