When to send it

  • Seven to ten days before a store opening, launch or exhibition
  • To a label of customers who live near the new location
  • The day before, once, to people who replied that they are coming
  • When there is something real for guests at the event — a demo, a gift, an opening price

Tips for approval and replies

  • Invite only contacts who opted in, and narrow the list with a label such as the city or area near the venue.
  • Put the date, time and address in the message itself; a map link can go in a URL button.
  • Use quick-reply buttons like “I’ll be there” and “Can’t make it” so guests answer in one tap, then label the ones who said yes.
  • Schedule the broadcast in wbm.link for a sensible hour, and keep “Reply STOP to opt out” in the footer.

Is an event invitation a marketing template?

Yes. Inviting customers to a store opening or promotional event is marketing. A reminder sent only to someone who already signed up, with nothing promotional in it, can be utility.

How do I know who is coming?

If the template has quick-reply buttons, each guest’s answer comes back to you as a reply in their chat, so you can label the ones who said yes and follow up with them.
