Event registration confirmation WhatsApp templates

Once someone registers for your workshop, seminar, run or conference, a written confirmation gives them the event, the date, the venue and a registration number to show at the desk. Keep it to their registration — no promotion of other events — and Meta approves it as a utility template.

When to send it

  • Right after someone registers on your website, a form or in a chat
  • When a registration fee is received and the place is secured
  • When a waitlisted person gets a confirmed place
  • When the venue, date or time of an event they registered for changes

Tips for approval and replies

  • Name the event, date, time and venue, and include a registration number — that is what makes it clearly about this person’s own registration.
  • Leave out other events, early-bird prices and “bring a friend” lines. Any promotion turns the confirmation into a marketing template.
  • A URL button to the venue on a map and a phone button for the organiser are fine in utility templates.
  • wbm.link does not connect to event or form tools, so import the registrations as a CSV with the event, date and registration number as custom fields and send the approved template as a broadcast; questions come into the team inbox.

Can I use the WhatsApp Business API for event registration confirmation?

Yes. Confirming a registration someone made is a utility template, sent to people who agreed to hear from you on WhatsApp. It should cover their registration only — the event, date, venue and registration number.

Is an event registration confirmation utility or marketing?

Utility, when it only confirms the person’s own registration. Inviting people to an event they have not signed up for, or promoting other events in the same message, is marketing.

Can wbm.link send the confirmation automatically when someone fills in my form?

No. wbm.link does not connect to form or ticketing tools. Import the registrations as a CSV with the details as custom fields and send the approved template as a broadcast, or send it from the person’s chat if they registered on WhatsApp.
