When to send it

  • When a product on a customer’s wishlist gets cheaper
  • When a price cut applies to a category a customer buys regularly
  • At the start of a sale, for items customers asked about
  • When a price is reduced for good, not just for a day

Tips for approval and replies

  • Show the old and new price honestly. The old price should be one you actually charged, not an inflated figure that makes the saving look bigger.
  • Send it to the customers it matters to — a label of those who asked about the product, or who buy in that category.
  • If you import customers from a CSV, custom fields can fill the product name and both prices, so one template covers many products.
  • If the lower price ends on a date, say so; if it doesn’t, don’t imply that it will.

Is a price drop alert marketing or utility?

Marketing. It encourages a purchase, so Meta treats it as promotional even when the customer asked to be told.

Can price drop alerts go out automatically when prices change?

Not from wbm.link — it does not connect to your store, so it does not see price changes. Send the alert as a broadcast to a label or an imported list of the customers it applies to.
