When to send it

  • When a class moves to another day or time
  • When a new timetable starts for a batch or term
  • When a class is cancelled for a holiday or faculty leave
  • When a class moves online, or to another room or centre

Tips for approval and replies

  • Name the batch or subject and the exact date and time. Specific details make the purpose clear to the reviewer — and to a parent reading it at work.
  • Keep course promotion out. A line about a new crash course in the same message makes it marketing.
  • Label contacts by batch in wbm.link — say, “JEE 2027 Morning” — and broadcast the change only to that label, so other batches are not confused.
  • Add a single “Noted” quick reply when you need to know who has seen the change.

Is a class timetable change a utility template?

Yes. A change to the classes a student is enrolled in is an update about their own schedule. Promoting other courses in the same message makes it marketing.

Why not just post changes in the WhatsApp group?

Group messages get buried, and everyone in the group sees everyone’s number. A broadcast reaches each student or parent individually, and you can see who received and read it.
