WhatsApp for banks, nbfcs & fintech
Customer service and account reminders on the institution's own number.
Borrowers and account holders ask about EMIs, statements and service requests on WhatsApp. wbm.link puts those chats in one team inbox, sends due-date reminders and account updates as utility templates, and answers routine questions — without ever asking a customer for an OTP, PIN or card number.
Sound familiar?
Where WhatsApp breaks down today
Service requests on personal phones
Relationship managers answer customers from their own numbers, and the institution has no record of what was said.
Missed EMIs and due dates
Borrowers forget a due date nobody reminded them about, and the collection calls follow.
Customers can't tell real from fake
Scammers ask for OTPs in your name, and customers don't know which messages to trust.

Examples you can adapt
Utility templates cost a fraction of marketing ones in India, and replies inside a customer's 24-hour window need no template at all.
Dear {{1}}, the EMI of ₹{{2}} for your loan account ending {{3}} is due on {{4}}. Please keep the amount ready in your linked bank account. Reply here with any questions.
Hi {{1}}, your request {{2}} to update the address on your account was completed on {{3}}. If you did not make this request, please call the helpline on our website.
We will never ask for your OTP, PIN, CVV or card number on WhatsApp. If anyone does, do not share it — reply FRAUD for our official helpline.
Can banks use the WhatsApp Business API for banking transaction alerts?
Yes — account and transaction updates about a customer's own account are utility templates. Real-time alerts for every transaction need an automated sender connected to your own banking systems, and wbm.link does not connect to those. It suits the conversations around them: updates and reminders sent from the inbox or as broadcasts to an imported list, and the replies that follow.
Can NBFCs and lenders send EMI reminders on WhatsApp?
Yes. A reminder of an existing EMI with no offer in it is a utility template, sent to borrowers who agreed to be contacted on WhatsApp. Import the month's dues as a CSV with the amount and date as custom fields and broadcast the approved template.
Should a bank ever ask for OTPs or card details on WhatsApp?
No. WhatsApp's Business Policy does not allow asking customers for card numbers, PINs, passwords or OTPs, and doing so is exactly what scammers do. Point customers to your secure app or website for those, and follow your own regulatory and privacy obligations for everything shared in chat.
